CORONAVIRUS SUMMARY UPDATE
MARCH 25, 2020

The Recreation & Parks Department are now closed and operating remotely via email and telephone, please allow 24 hours for response to any inquiries.Due to ongoing concerns with the current COVID-19 situation, The Town of Brighton Recreation Department & Parks Department would like to provide the following updates:

  • Brighton Recreation Department is suspending ALL Recreation & Senior programming, events, drop-in groups, etc. offered by the Recreation Department & Brighton Seniors until further notice.
  • All participants enrolled in current classes will be issued a pro-rated user credit for the classes missed at the end of their scheduled session. User credits may be used for future programming as we return to normal operations sometime hopefully in the near future. 
  • All Park lodges, playgrounds, shelters, and athletic fields are closed until further notice. Reservations are not being accepted at this time.
  • Town parks and trails remain open. Please practice social distancing by staying at least 6’ away from other people. 
  • The Brighton Winter Farmers Market is closed until further notice. For updates on where to find your favorite vendors please visit https://brightonfarmersmarket.org/ 
  • AARP Brighton/Pittsford Tax Appointments are cancelled until further notice. Follow up will be done to those currently scheduled if/when appointments are able to resume. AARP updates are available here: https://www.aarp.org/money/taxes/aarp_taxaide/

We understand that Recreation is an important part of everyone’s life, but given the current challenges facing the community we feel this is the best decision for everyone. The safety of our participants, community and staff are of the utmost importance to us.

We will continue to update the public as necessary on our anticipated return to normal operations. The Recreation Office is now closed to the public.
