The Brighton Police Department is a full-time police force operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  The agency is guided by the philosophy and principles of community policing.  The agency is New York State accredited and has been since 1991.  The department's highly trained staff of 41 sworn police officers and 11 civilian staff members strives to provide quality service and works to promote public safety for the residents and visitors of our community.  The Monroe County Emergency Communications Department handles calls to 911, and provides dispatching services to our officers around the clock. 

The police department is well-equipped with high-technology tools for efficient and effective delivery of services. It also coordinates with other law enforcement agencies in the region.
