Clean Sweep and Recycling Programs
2015 Annual Clean Sweep - Saturday, May 16, 2015
     We will be holding this years Clean Sweep on Saturday May 16th.  Kick off will be at 9 am at the Town Hall to pick up your T-Shirt, Gloves and Grabber, have some coffee, juice, donuts and a bagel.   Then Volunteers head out to assigned areas where we all will be working to Clean up our streets, creeks, parks and trails!
    At 11:45 Lunch will be served at the French Road Elementary School Cafetorium for all Clean Sweep Volunteers courtesy of Wegmans, Mark's Pizzeria and Great Harvest Bread Co.
     Volunteers can pre-register online at www.townofbrighton.org/rec or at the door the day of the event.

2015 Prescription Drug "Take-Back Day" - Saturday April 25, 2015
     Our 2015 Spring Prescription Drug Take-Back Day has been scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2015, Rain or Shine.
     From 10 am to 2 pm you can drop off your old, unused or unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medicines at the Brighton Town Hall Public Safety Wing, 2300 Elmwood Ave. All medications will be taken to the Covanta Niagara waste facility immediately following the collection for final, witnessed destruction via incineration.
  You don't even have to leave your car. Just leave all drugs in the original containers (black out patient's name) drive over to the Brighton Town Hall and enter the Police Department Driveway.  Follow the signs and hand your items to one of the collectors right from your car and then drive out, exiting from the Brighton Library driveway.  IT'S THAT EASY- No leaving your Car, AND No forms to fill out.

2015 Electronics Recycling and On-Site Residential Document Shredding - Saturday May 30, 2015
     On Saturday May 30, 2015 from 9 am to 12:00 noon we will hold our combined Free Electronics Recycling and On-site Document Shredding event at the Brighton Highway Dept., 1941 Elmwood Avenue.
 Accepted Electronic Items Include:  
        Computers, Laptops, Modems, Servers, Peripherals, GPS Units, Cell Phones, Printers, Fax Machines, Monitors, Audio/Visual Equipment, CD Players, Copiers, IT Equipment, Telecommunications Equipment, Microwave Ovens and NOTE:  TELEVISIONS WILL BE TAKEN at NO Charge.
     Acceptable Items for Residential Document Shredding: 
Computer & Copy Paper, Tax Documents & Receipts, Bank Checks & Statements,
Medical & Insurance Documents, and ANY Confidential Paperwork.
     Unacceptable Items for Shredding:  
Cardboard, Hardcover Books, Telephone Books, Magazines & Catalogues, ANY Hazardous Materials.
