Councilwoman Louise Novros organized Brighton's first "Clean Sweep" event with generous community support. Heather Howell assisted Novros with planning the hugely successful event as over 550 students, families, local businesses and civic organizations rolled up their sleeves and donned their work gloves (donated by Home Depot) to "brighten Brighton!" Volunteers were treated to a delicious breakfast and lunch supplied by Starbucks, Bagel Land, Wegmans, Dunkin Donuts, and Pontillo's.
Brighton businesses stepped up with generous financial donations from Brighton Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, Brighton Rotary, Don's Original, M&T Bank, Microworx, Nothnagle, Rome Celli, Scotty's Automotive, and the Dollinger Family. A grant was received from Air and Waste Management Association as well. As a result of the incredible financial support from everyone, "Clean Sweep" did not cost the Brighton taxpayers one dime!
A major "Thank you!" to Councilwoman Louise Novros and all the volunteers and participants who spent a fun Saturday morning for a cleaner and greener Brighton!
